In 1940, the Blessing factory was erected at its West Beardsley Avenue location in Elkhart, and master craftsmen were now making instruments in a progressive manufacturing environment with modern precision capabilities. Big Band luminaries such as Muggsy Spanier, Bob Crosby, Horace Heidt, Ted Lewis and others endorsed Blessing trumpets and cornets. The Blessing professional model "Super Artist" trumpet was introduced and later became the preferred trumpet of choice of legendary jazz trumpet artist, Clifford Brown.
Technical condition: valves and slides move smoothly and lightly, still good compression, especially with thick oil for vintage instruments
Visual condition: no dents, no dings, lacquer finish: about 20% remains, the lacquer has: discoloration, scratches, loss, slight sign of dent job at front of the bell
Finish: lacquered instrument, original lacquer finish
Additional information: overviewed, original case with key in poor, but functional condition, Bach Corp 7c mouthpiece (1965-1969)
